What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy is a health profession providing support, advice & intervention. Paediatric OT assists children who experience difficulties completing everyday tasks. OT may include working with children with or without a disability in some of the following areas:
Kids Work
Programs are designed to develop and improve handwriting, scissor skills, fine & gross motor skills. Other programs enable better learning & participation at school through understanding sensory processing needs to improve attention, follow instructions & routines.
Self Care
Sue is sensitively able to design programs to encourage independence when challenged by dressing (buttons/shoelaces), eating (fussiness cutlery use), hygiene or toileting issues.
Play
Difficulties with social skills, turn taking & sharing, pretend play, understanding emotions, making friends and developing social skills. Children who benefit from the services of OT for School may include children with:
